National Tsing Hua University to Host “Nobel Double Feast” Public Lectures on June 19th

HSINCHU, Taiwan, June 18th 2012 | National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) had invited two Nobel Laureates in Chemistry to share their knowledge and wisdom with its staff, students and the public in the morning of June 19th. Professor Aaron Ciechanover, winner of the 2004 Chemistry prize will be lecturing on The Revolution of Personalized Medicine: are we going to cure all diseases and in what price? And Professor Ada Yonath, winner of the 2009 Chemistry prize will be lecturing on Life expectancy, wishes, prediction and reality.


This series of public lectures are featured as part of the College of Life Sciences’ 20th Anniversary Celebration. To make this milestone extra memorable for everyone involved, NTHU will further be hosting a Taiwan-Israel panel discussion on developing the biotechnology industry in the same afternoon, as both Nobel Laureates are from Israel. Among the topics to be discussed are the roles Taiwan and Israel each play on the world biotechnology platform and strategies to capitalize on individual key strengths. Representing the Taiwan point-of-view will be a panel of Taiwanese industry leaders, experts and pioneers.
